Supporting our visitors with purpose

After the loss of his mate, Lenny Deacon pledged to ride 16,000 kilometres around Australia on a recumbent bike, with his trusty kelpie, Lucky, to raise money for men’s mental health. Lenny’s mate, Simon “Dippa” Wheaton of Kangaroo Island took his life at 43 years old in 2021 after a long battle with depression.

Lenny’s journey brought him to Moonta on the Yorke Peninsula in January 2025, where he needed support repairing his bike. We were only too pleased to offer support to keep Lenny on his bike!

Now he is partnering with BMHRF again for his “You Are Not Alone Ride” around Australia.

Trishaw keeping people connected

Cycling Without Age is a not-for-profit charity that provides a community service by connecting those no longer able to ride for themselves with their community and the outdoors by giving them free rides on trishaw E-Bikes, piloted by volunteer cyclists.

After researching the organisation Ron and Leona Clark of Wallaroo connected with the Wallaroo Community Development Association and between them they started the Wallaroo Chapter.

With the committed support of many volunteers they have been able to give many hours of bike tours for people that need connection.

At Copper Trails Bike Hire we pleased to support this amazing cause and keep people connected and cycling!

PedalLing Perth to adelaide when it came to a halt!

Cam Bainbridge started on April 21, 2025 from Perth with an objective to reach Adelaide and then (if time permits) continue to Hobart. The reason was to raise much needed funds to support his cousin’s young son who was born premature in 2023 with a rare genetic condition. After enduring eight surgeries, he required specialist medical care and equipment for the rest of his life. Cam wanted to make a difference.

20km out of Wallaroo, Cam was hit by a car. The driver didn’t see him. No broken bones but rest was needed.

Unfortunately, it meant he didn’t have time to complete the ride to Hobart. Only 161km from Adelaide he patched himself up - our Team “patched up” his bike to keep Cam cycling!
